Walk 4 Harbury Heath

OS Explorer 206.     GPX File

The walk starts at the Village Hall (P). Turn left into South Parade and right into Chapel Street. After about fifty yards, turn left at Flecknoe House (the converted Wesleyan Chapel) and follow the narrow track, Darkie Lane, to Back Lane, the short road serving the school. Turn right on to Back Lane and left onto Mill Street.

Walk past the surgery on your right to the Farm Street junction on your left. Also on the left is the small Binswood End Green. At the far corner of the Green, take the narrow path between garden fences into the Beeches. Walk down The Beeches until it bends right. Here a narrow path between hedges goes to the left. Follow the path between and behind houses to a stile that gives access to open fields. Cross the field diagonally downhill to a gate by a cattle trough. Past the gate you are on a bridge over a stream, and there is a stile on the left leading into a 12 yard corridor to another stile that emerges on to the roadside. Turn right up the hill and, where the road bends right, go straight ahead along the drive to White Gates Farm (New Pastures Care Farm).

Keeping the house and farm buildings on your right, go straight ahead through two gates to emerge into a large field, keep straight ahead with the hedge to your right down to a kissing gate. Go through (or round) the gate and then through a metal gate to another kissing gate and onto the road. Turn left to follow the road - Beggars Lane - for about half a mile uphill to a futuristic looking house on the right. Be careful walking along Beggars Lane as at certain times of the day it can be quite busy.

Just past the house on the bend in the road on the left hand side go through the kissing gate into a field. Follow the left hand edge of the field and then follow the right hand edges of two more fields to the road - Bush Heath Lane. Turn right and almost immediately left through a gate. Go straight across the field to the opposite hedgerow which leads into the playing fields. Go down the playing fields to return to the Village Hall and car park.
