Walk 11 Alternative Harbury Heath Walk.
OS Explorer 206. GPX File
The walk starts at the Village Hall (P). Walk up the playing fields keeping to the right hand side besides the hedge up to the top right hand corner. Here a footpath leaves the playing fields and crosses a field towards Bush Heath Lane. Go through the metal gate and out onto the road. Bear right and then almost immediately go left through another metal gate
Follow the footpath keeping the hedge on your left. After going through two fields the footpath enters a third field where the hedge is now on your right hand side. At the far end of the field there is a metal kissing gate which brings you on Beggars Lane. You are safer crossing straight over the road at the this point and then turn right and walk along the verge for about 100 metres, walking in front of the futuristic house.
On your left is a double farm gate with a separate pedestrian gate. Go through the gate and turn sharp left now walking behind the modern house and other residences. Keeping to the hedge go through the next gates and into a large field. The footpath runs along the hedge to a gate at the far end. Once through the gate the footpath continues straight ahead for about 200 metres where you come to pedestrian gate besides a pair of farm gates. At this point if you look across the field to the west on a clear day the Malvern Hills can be seen.
At this point we join walk 7 back to the village. If you wish to extend this into a much longer walk then you can follow walk 7 in reverse. To return to Harbury take the farm road straight ahead to its junction at a cattle grid with the Bishops Itchington to Warwick road. Cross this road onto Bush Heath Road and turn immediately left onto Bush Heath Lane, which takes you back towards Harbury. Follow Bush Heath Lane to a gate on the right. Cross the field to enter the Playing Fields to the Village Hall and car park.
